Question about Credit Repair/Debt Settlement?
I have a bunch of negative, but unfortunately accurate, items on my 3 credit reports. They range in amount from a stupid little to a whopping 00 auto loan that is from 1995. What do i pay off? What do I dispute? Who do I contact first – Credit Bureaus for dispute or Creditors/Collection Agencies for settlement for removal? Will they really remove it from my reports? Do I deal with the the original creditor or the collection agency that is reporting it to the CRAs. My total debt is only about 000, do you think I can turn my credit around? If so, how long do u think it will take? My scores are in the 540 range.
I paid a settlement for less than the amount owed ?
My credit report is showing that "the settlement was paid in full". I recently got some more money and I am looking for ways to improve my credit score.
Can I paid the rest of the original debt after paying a settlement in order to improve my credit score? will the creditor make an update to improve my report?
small claims court, auto insurance pays the settlement due, how does this affect my credit?
Okay, i got into a car accident about a year ago. This lady is suing me now. my auto insurance company has tried to settle this with her before going to court. She won’t accept it. I was told that my insurance will pay for the settlement but if the claim has to go through court, this whole thing will somehow go on my credit report. I have really good credit right now. i think it’s up to 746 right now. Do you know if and how this will affect my credit?
Does taking the settlement affect my credit report?
I owe 6 to Imagine Credit Card. Jefferson Capital Systems, LLC is the collection agency assigned to the account now. They sent me an offer stating that I can settle the debt for 0 (by making 5 monthly payments of .13. This debt is showing as a negative account listed under Imagine(as a closed by credit grantor request) and a negative account listed under Jefferson Capital Systems, LLC. If I take this settlement offer, is there any way I can get them to do something to make it look better on my credit reports (such as take it off, report it paid off, etc)?
Thanks for any help.
Should I pay it? I know it won’t improve the credit score, so will it do me any good to even pay it?
charge off on credit report?
I have a charge off on my credit report…. i called the company and made a settlement amount with them and they said they would put on my credit report "paid charge off " but they would not remove it from my credit report… Is this even worth doing , I mean will it improve my score or will it still be the same? or should I just wait for it to drop off since it is going to still be on there, just saying "paid" please help me with this ….? Im am just trying to rebuild my credit… any suggestions?
Settlement can cause low credit score?
Ok, I hate Discover card, but here is my question about my credit card.
Credit Limit – 00
Currently owe – 00 (cause of late fees. overlimit ect)
My Credit Report shows on this account under Negative Accounts – Status: closed/Current, was past due 60 days
Rightnow Discover is not charging me late fees and overlimit fees, but they are charging me finance %. If I can make them in writing for a settlement of 00 which was my original account balance, can this lower my credit score? This card by the way is my only bad one which was open back a few years but never got to pay it off – NOW I DO!!!! THANKS
Should I pay the settlement amount on a credit card from years ago?
The one & only credit card i’ve ever had I ended up maxing out and then not being able to pay on it – i ended up owing almost 00. That was almost 4 years ago and though I realize how stupid I was to do that – i still never paid it. It went to various collectors and has been a large part of the reason why my credit is complete crap. Long story short I want to fix my credit, but have heard conflicting advice about this credit card – to pay it off or let it run it’s course on my credit report & eventually be removed in a couple more years. I recently got a settlement offer of 7 to be paid in installments. I am tempted to try and pay it off, but i’ve heard that it will then be on my credit report for even longer. Can I tell them I will agree to pay it if they do a "pay for delete" and how do I go about negotating that, how does that work? Please help!
Credit Report- Plz Help?
Im paying settlement amnts on my credit cards which have been seriously past due for a cpl years. They are closing the accnt with the settlement payments, Im making great headway in the past 2 months, 3 are settled. Im very proud of myself, but I am concerned on how long it will take for my score to go up. I notice that the accnts I had settled are still on the report, saying charged off or what have ytou. How do I make sure these come off the report or at least show that I have paid them a fair amount to close it? I request a letter from each stating that I have settled, do I need to contact all 3 agencies with a copy of the letter stating I want that reflected on my report? I hope someone here knows what Im talking about and has been through the same thing . Plz give advice on my next step to ensure my credit report will reflect the progress Ive made Thx.
On my credit report, it says "Charge Off"?
I once had an AMEX Credit Card. I got in trouble paying it. It took me a long time to get caught up with it. The finally sent me a settlement letter and told me I could pay a portion of it and it all be said and done. Well, I got a debt consolidation loan and paid the FULL amount to them. This was 08/2008.
Well, now my Equifax Credit Report says "Charge Off". What does this mean?
